Daniel has special needs, scoliosis, and profoundly intellectually & developmentally delay. As he got older, his floor mobility deteriorated where he couldn’t roll over from side to side. Fortunately, he gained other mobility skills with walking indoor in a gait trainer for cardio exercise and driving a power standing/repositioning wheelchair for his basic daily needs. It seems that Daniel Walkingdan was able to do more on the mat when he was a year old than what he can do now on floor mobility. Cerebral Palsy can do bad things to a child’s body; even with medical interventions, it can cause contractures, deformities, scoliosis, and losing range of motions. For some children with Cerebral Palsy, it can be a life-threatened condition, forcing these children to have numerous painful surgeries in their life time.
